Drainage Improvements Require Closure of Mount Misery Road in Brunswick County

A section of Mount Misery Road will close for about three months to allow N.C. Department of Transportation crews to safely replace two metal drainage pipes with a reinforced concrete box culvert.

The closure will be in place from 9 a.m. Monday until early September. Mount Misery Road will be closed just north of Lincoln Road to the new bridge over the railroad tracks on Mount Misery Road. Lincoln Road will still be accessible from Mount Misery Road. Traffic will be detoured to Interstate 140 and U.S. 74/76.

Transportation officials urge motorists to use caution while traveling through the area and observe signs with detour or construction information.
