Brunswick County MIS receives MCCi Excellence Award for online permitting application
Brunswick County’s Management Information Services (MIS) department has been awarded MCCi’s Excellence Award for the online permitting application the department developed.
The award recognizes Brunswick County as a national leader in utilization of Laserfiche, a product which helps with the management, storage and processing of records in digital form. Brunswick County MIS used Laserfiche when developing the County’s online application for development and improvement approval.
That process allows citizens to apply for building permits, schedule inspections and pay online. It also lets citizens view in real time the status of inspections being conducted on any given day, and streamlines both internal and external processes involved with permitting and inspections, helping Brunswick County provide a higher level of customer service while saving money.
“Congratulations to our MIS team for this accomplishment,” said County Manager Ann Hardy. “This application has enhanced the permitting process for our citizens and staff alike, and we excited to see their efforts, and the support and vision of our Board of Commissioners, recognized by MCCi.”
Representatives from MCCi attended the Brunswick County Board of Commissioners’ July 18 meeting to present the award.
