Burning Ban Issued for Brunswick County, Waste Industries Will Not Pick Up Tuesday

BOLIVIA, NC — Sept. 17, 2018 — A burning ban has been issued for all unincorporated areas of Brunswick County in the wake of Hurricane Florence.

All burning within 100 feet of a structure is banned. At this time, Brunswick County has limited fire-fighting resources and water, as many roads remain closed and responders remain focused on life safety missions.

Unincorporated means not within city or town limits.

The ban will remain in place until further notice.

Waste Industries will not be running residential collection routes on Tuesday, Sept. 18. Conditions are still being evaluated for later in the week.
