Commissioner Williams Represents Brunswick County at National Association of Counties Legislative Conference
Brunswick County Board of Commissioners Chairman Frank Williams represented Brunswick County at the recent National Association of Counties (NaCo) Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C.
“This conference provided an excellent opportunity to learn from county leaders from across the nation, secure face time with Congressman Rouzer and key legislative staffers who represent us on Capital Hill, and discuss key issues facing Brunswick County,” said Williams.
Williams met with Congressman David and key legislative staffers for Senators Richard Burr and Thom Tillis. Williams discussed a number of Federal issues concerning Brunswick County, including shallow draft inlet maintenance and dredging, designating U.S. 74/76 in Brunswick County as Future Interstate 74, securing federal infrastructure funding for the Cape Fear Crossing and the Carolina Bays Parkway, ensuring the stability of the National Flood Insurance Program, minimizing or eliminating Federal unfunded mandates, and continuation of funding for the 21st Century Cures Act.
