Four Brunswick Vision Public Input Meetings Next Week

We will hold four Brunswick Vision public input meetings next week:

• Monday, October 12: Southport Senior Center. 1513 N. Howe Street, Suite 1, Southport.
• Tuesday, October 13:  Shallotte Senior Center. 3620 Express Drive, Shallotte.
• Wednesday, October 14:  Waccamaw Community Building. 5855 Waccamaw School Road NW,  Ash.  Begins at 6 p.m.
• Thursday, October 15: St. James Town Hall. 4140 Southport-Supply Road, St. James.

Unless otherwise stated, all public input meetings begin at 6:30 p.m.  The first public meeting was held last Wednesday, Oct. 7 at at the Holden Beach Town Hall.

Meeting Format
These are structured discussion meetings during which attendees are asked to share insight into their vision for the future of Brunswick County.  If you plan to attend, please come prepared to discuss the big picture and share what you would like Brunswick County to be in years to come.  If you would like to weigh in on recent or pending issues or decisions, please do so in public comments at a regular board of commissioners meeting.

About Brunswick Vision
Brunswick County is in the process of formulating a new long-term strategic vision. Public input is a critical portion of this process, and we need to hear from you.  The planning and visioning process will include extensive public input, both in the form of public meetings and an online survey.  Click here to complete the survey today.

Public Input Meetings
We are holding two public input meetings per commissioner district. Please make plans to attend the one closest to you. Unless otherwise stated, all public input meetings begin at 6:30 p.m.

• Thursday, October 15: St. James Town Hall. 4140 Southport-Supply Road, St. James.
• Wednesday, October 21:  Leland Town Hall. 102 Town Hall Drive, Leland. Rescheduled from Oct. 5 due to inclement weather.
• Thursday, October 22: Northwest City Hall. 4889 Vernon Road in Northwest. Begins at 7 p.m.
• Monday, October 26: Town Creek Community Building. 6420 Ocean Highway East, Winnabow.
• Tuesday, November 3: Jessie Mae Monroe Elementary. 250 Pea Landing Rd NW, Ash.
• Wednesday, November 4: Union Elementary. 180 Union School Road, Shallotte.

Once citizens have provided their input, the committee will develop strategic goals that will form the foundation of the county’s long-term plan.
