Brunswick County launched a strategic visioning process in September 2015. Finalized in 2017, Brunswick Vision is intended to articulate a long-term vision and establish strategic goals to ensure that Brunswick County continues to be a great place to live, work, start or run a business, retire or spend a vacation. The Brunswick County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the Brunswick Vision document at its Feb. 6, 2017 meeting. The full document can be viewed here.

The N.C. Department of Transportation will intermittently close the eastbound and westbound lanes of the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge for two nights later this week. The closures will be in place from 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017 until 5 a.m. the next morning, and again the same hours on Thursday night through Friday morning.
