county sealNotice is hereby given that the Brunswick County Planning Board will hold a public hearing on May 9, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Commissioners Chambers of the David R. Sandifer Administration Building located at 30 Government Center Drive at the Brunswick County Government Center concerning the following text amendments regarding Farmers Markets/Farm Stands:

  • Amend Section 5.2.3. Permitted Use Table to have separate listings for Permanent Farmers Market/Farm Stands and Temporary Farmers Market/Farm Stands, allowing Temporary Farmers Market/Farm Stands in the R-7500, R-6000 and SBR-6000 Zoning Districts.
  • Add Section 5.3.3.E. Farmers Market/Farm Stands (Permanent) to clarify that this use is considered a commercial use.
  • Amend Section 5.5.3.D. to address the expanded growing season and the need to have the market/stands more accessible to the community.
  • Amend Section 8.7.13.A. Temporary Farm Product Signs to clarify when signs can be placed at the location.
