Southbound US 421 Ramp Closed Nightly US 421 Ramp to Eastbound US 76 & North Business 17 At the Battleship

The North Carolina Department of Transportation will continue nightly closures on the ramp at the Battleship NORTH CAROLINA for Carolina Beach, South US 421, East US 76 and North Business US 17, weather permitting.

These closures will continue each week, Sunday through Thursday, from 10 p.m. – 6 a.m. nightly through September 30, 2016, until the work is completed.  There will be no ramp closures permitted Friday and Saturday.

The closures are necessary for Department of Transportation crews to safely install lighting on the ramp as part of the Leland Causeway Bridge Project, which is scheduled to be open for traffic in November 2016.

A signed detour will guide motorists through the closure.  Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling in the area and expect possible delays.  NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted Speed Limit.
