Statement on Economic Development Board Members’ Resignations
LELAND, N.C. — Earlier today, the members of the Brunswick County Economic Development board resigned their positions.
Commissioner Frank Williams released the following statement after the EDC board’s announcement:
“As I stated last week, I was in agreement that some things need to change regarding our county’s approach to economic development, but that it was prudent to give the economic development commission an opportunity to make necessary changes. Today, they took definitive action. I commend the members of the economic development commission for making this tough decision. I also thank their chairman, Tom Adams, for his leadership during this time. Now, we must move forward and determine the best way to ensure that Brunswick County is at the forefront of industry leaders’ minds when they are looking for a home and that the world knows that Brunswick County is open for business.”
