TRAFFIC ALERT: Inspections and Repairs on U.S. 17 Bridge near Magnolia Greens Require Closures

Motorists traveling on the U.S. 17 bridge over Jackeys Creek, two miles south of U.S. 74/76 and just south of Magnolia Greens in Brunswick County, will encounter lane closures beginning June 12. The closures are needed so Department of Transportation crews can safely inspect the bridge and make any necessary repairs.

Lane closures will be in place daily from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. between June 12 and June 16. One lane will remain open for traffic in each direction.

“We inspect every part of the bridge and make repairs as needed,” said Bridge Maintenance Engineer Adam Britt. “There won’t be any detours, and drivers should expect delays.”
