TRAFFIC ALERT: Intermittent Lane Closures on the Oak Island Bridge

The North Carolina Department of Transportation will have intermittent north and southbound right lane closures on SR 1105 on the Oak Island High Rise Bridge beginning Tuesday December 13, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. and continuing until Friday, December 16, 2016 until 4:30 p.m. for a bridge inspection.

The NCDOT Bridge Maintenance Department will be conducting routine maintenance and inspection to the bridge that is required by Federal Highways Administration. This work is imperative to the safe travel of motor vehicles passing over the bridge.

The NCDOT reminds motorists to STAY ALERT, encourages motorists to use alternate routes when possible during this period, drive with caution, obey the posted speed limits, and allow extra travel time.
