Williams facilitates meeting with citizens to discuss preserving historic cemeteries

[June 1, 2026] — Statement from Commissioner Frank Williams:

“On Friday, May 29, I facilitated a meeting with staff and a group of citizens who are concerned about preserving historic cemeteries in Brunswick County. We had a very productive meeting, agreed on key issues that need to be addressed, and discussed a number of potential approaches moving forward. Staff is developing information for us to review, and we have agreed to meet again in July to discuss next steps.”
