Williams requests staff proceed with formation of fire committee

[June 1, 2026] — Statement from Commissioner Frank Williams:

“At a recent Brunswick County Board of Commissioners meeting, Chief Charles Drew spoke on behalf of the Brunswick County Fire Chiefs Association and suggested a potential structure for a committee to develop an agreed-upon path forward for a fire department contract and funding approach. At today’s meeting, I asked staff to put an item on our next agenda to formally create a slightly modified version of that committee.”
